  • Crayons, markers or colored pencils

How to use it

  1. Give each student one poster piece to color.
  2. Talk about Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) while students work.
  3. Collect the finished pieces and assemble them in order.
  4. Display the finished poster on a bulletin board, wall, hallway or door.

Classroom idea

Leave the display up during Hispanic Heritage Month and invite other classes for a short gallery visit, with students explaining their part of the poster.

Adaptations

  • Younger students: color larger or simpler pieces with a partner.
  • Older students: add patterns and details and write a short reflection about the project.
  • Use it as a whole-school project by giving pieces to several classes.
